Matt G. Oakes, D.V.M. Diplomate, A.C.V.S. Dr. Matt Oakes received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida in 1989. He completed an internship and surgical residency at Louisiana State University in 1993. He then owned and operated a mobile referral surgery practice in Denver, Colorado. In 1994, Dr. Oakes became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and joined the surgical service at Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialists. Dr. Oakes has published numerous articles in veterinary journals and textbooks, and has lectured regularly at local and national veterinary meetings. Dr. Oakes performs a wide variety of orthopedic, soft tissue, and neurosurgical procedures. He has particular interest in oral surgery, neurosurgery, and surgical management of hip dysplasia and anterior cruciate ligament rupture.

Kimberly R. Cox, D.V.M. Diplomate, A.C.V.S. Dr. Cox received her D.V.M. from Texas A&M University in 1992. She completed an internship at Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center and a surgical residency at Iowa State University. She was a clinical instructor at Iowa State University's small animal surgical service in 1996. In 1997, she was a staff surgeon at a small animal referral practice in Minneapolis, MN. In 1999, Dr. Cox became a diplomate of the ACVS and joined the surgical service at Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialist

Douglas P. Bruns, D.V.M. Diplomate, A.C.V.S. Dr. Bruns received his D.V.M. from the Ohio State University in 1992. He completed an internship at the University of Georgia and a surgical residency at The Ohio State University. In 1996, he was a staff surgeon at a small animal referral practice in Pittsburgh, PA. In 1997, Dr. Bruns became a diplomate of the ACVS. In 2001 he joined the surgical service at Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialists

John Kirsch, D.V.M. Diplomate, A.C.V.S. Dr. John Kirsch is a Florida native from Sarasota who received his DVM degree from the University of Florida in 1998 and completed a small animal internship at the University of Georgia in 1999. He then spent a year as a surgical intern at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists in Jacksonville, Florida, and completed a small animal surgical residency at Michigan State University in 2003.
